Kings Beauty, having recently renovated their Salon, approached us to create a new website for their business. Having been supplied with their new brochure we had a great starting point for the design.
We reflected the aesthetic of the brochure by using a primarily monochrome palette. We picked a few areas to introduce lime green and aubergine, in-keeping with the Salon interior. A minimalist approach was taken for the layout, using clean lines and white space. This supports the objective of relaxation while making the site easy to navigate for the user.
The website includes a grid layout for the varied range of treatments that are available. This relies, in part, on visual cues and promotes exploration of the site. We added a transition into colour on each image when hovered over. This adds some warmth to the page whilst insuring that the rest of the site does not detract. We felt this was thematic of the services that Kings Beauty provide.
The treatments are all listed on pages clearly, with a soft background and very little distraction. Prices are shown for all services with a description for each procedure.
Opening times, contact information and cancellation policy are all essential information and exist in the About page. There is a blog for recent news articles and details on vouchers are available to the user on the Vouchers page. The client requested that we incorporate a link to their current booking system, so we embedded this in an iFrame to ensure users don't need to leave the website.
Great care was taken to make sure the site was responsive and functional to give the most relaxing experience possible.
