Local resident Holly Stubbert got in touch with us about launching a website for selling her homemade handicrafts.
She chose the name ‘Crafts on the Rock’ to place the emphasis on it being a local business. We produced her logo from hand-drawn sketches and used the colours and fonts that she had already identified.
The website required a simple, clean shop that would allow the designs to "be the hero" and a handmade/homemade style for the rest of the site that complemented the origins of her products and provided a platform for her to write articles about her creations and inspire fellow crafters.
It was important to both the client and ourselves that we kept the personal touch. This was achieved using graphical elements that appeared hand drawn and organic, and we avoided using bold, artificial colours. This gave a friendly aesthetic to the site while keeping the costumers focus on the products. We even included a photo of her workstation as a background image to emphasise the handmade and local theme.
Widgets were used throughout the site to allow people to flick between products and blog posts with ease, and also to highlight any promotional offers within the store component. Social media links were also provided as Holly had already been active on her ‘Crafts on the Rock’ facebook page.
We enjoyed working with Holly to build her a beautiful site for her fledgling business and wish her the very best of luck for its future.
