The sun came out on Saturday 14th October for St Matthew’s Church’s 2017 annual Bazaar, with the theme once again being the ‘Wild West’. The event was organised by our MD Justin, who was greeting visitors at the door suitably dressed as a cowboy, complete with Texan accent!
The Community Centre was jam-packed with stalls, including knitted items, fresh produce, home bakes, DVDs, books and crafts. There were also activities for children to get involved with, such as face painting, making dream catchers and totem poles.
And there wasn’t a dull moment in the day, with local bands Acoustic Accord, Third Above and the University of the Third Age Ukulele Group filling the community centre with music.
Although the event was mainly held indoors due to restrictions at Le Guet, the church were able to make the most of the glorious autumn sunshine by cooking hotdogs and bacon rolls outside.
Over 500 people attended the Bazaar and a total of £5,600 was raised for St Matthew’s Church through raffle ticket sales and proceeds from the stalls. The Golden Ticket Ballot closed the event with 11 lucky people winning a range of prizes, from a £1,250 first prize to 10 hampers filled with goodies worth at least £100.
Donkeylogic is proud to have been a part of this year’s annual family-fun day, having designed the raffle tickets and poster for the event, as well as supplying part of the 1st prize.
