First Class Travel

Last week I graduated from Bournemouth University with a First Class Honours degree in Media Production.

In typical island life fashion, it was quite a rush doing a quick day trip over to the UK, but it was a lovely day, starting with a celebratory breakfast (gluten-free, vegan waffles with chocolate and fudge for me – I love England simply for its allergy-friendly food), followed by a quick trip to the New Forest to see some more family.

We left the New Forest at midday to drive to Bournemouth but got slightly held up by some roaming friends …  donkeys!

Of course I had to get out the car and have some photos with them (I think the team at Donkeylogic would’ve been hugely disappointed if I hadn’t!).

Having battled donkeys and some traffic jams on the A31, we eventually made it to rainy Bournemouth.

I collected my gown and mortar board, changed my mortar board because it was too big for my little head, had my professional photos taken and found my best friend from uni for even more photos. Then it was time for the graduation ceremony. After clapping for hundreds of students receiving their degree, it was finally my turn. It felt like the longest walk across the stage, but luckily (unlike some poor girl) I didn’t trip and my mortar board didn’t fall off. Phew!

So that’s that – I’m now officially a graduate! And I’m very much enjoying my post-graduate life working on the Donkeylogic Design Team, putting the skills I’ve learned at university to good use.
